JEC Verified: Ensuring Better-Built Buildings
-

Essential Confidence
Establishes the foundational verification of a project’s building envelope. This includes up to 3 visual quality assurance visits, including review of installation practices, and confirmation that materials and assemblies meet manufacturer requirements. We review continuity of waterproofing assemblies, flashing integration, and general workmanship.
This level ensures the project meets baseline expectations for a durable enclosure. It includes up to 3 visual quality assurance site visits throughout construction.
-

Enhanced Protection
Adds performance verification through targeted water infiltration testing and system-specific checks. This includes spray testing of window assemblies (AAMA methods), WRB and transition detailing evaluation, and general installation. The goal is to confirm the building envelope performs reliably under standard environmental loads, reducing the risk of leaks or early-life failures.
This level includes no less than 4 visual quality assurance visits and no less than 1 round of window testing
-

Ultimate Envelope Assurance
Provides top-tier review of the building envelope through enhanced quality checks and performance-based testing. This includes whole-building air leakage testing, water penetration testing of windows, and may include plan review prior to construction to confirm assemblies are functioning as designed. The focus is on delivering elevated confidence and long-term performance for owners, architects, and contractors.
This level includes bi-weekly visual quality assurance visits during active installation of waterproofing and cladding, no less than 2 rounds of window testing, and 1 round of blower-door air leakage testing achieving and a 5.0 ACH50 or less.
