Bridging the Gap Between Design and Durability
Most people don’t think about their building’s "envelope" until it fails. I’ve spent my career in the gap between how a building is designed on paper and how it actually performs in the wind and rain.
As a forensic engineer, I’ve seen the same story play out dozens of times: a small oversight at a window transition or a rushed roofing detail leads to litigation, mold, and costly remediation. Jackson Envelope Consulting was founded to change that narrative.
My expertise was built on active jobsites and in the middle of forensic investigations. With a background in design review, failure analysis, and hands-on field diagnostics, I specialize in identifying the why behind a failure—and more importantly, how to prevent it before the drywall goes up.
I’ve worked across the residential and commercial sectors as a 3rd-party advocate for owners, developers, HOAs, contractors, and architects. Whether I’m using infrared thermography to map hidden moisture or conducting ASTM E1105 spray testing on a high-rise, my goal is absolute clarity.
At the end of the day, our focus is to provide more than just a "deficiency report." We provide certainty. In an industry where "good enough" is often the standard, I push for "built to last." I focus on the high-risk interfaces and penetrations where most buildings fail, ensuring that your project is watertight and performs exactly as intended.
When you’re ready to move past the guesswork and get the technical reality of your building, let's talk.

Industry-Accredited Certifications
-
The HAAG Certified Inspector (HCI) designations—Commercial (HCI-C) and Residential (HCI-R)—are industry-recognized certifications demonstrating advanced knowledge in roof and building envelope inspection techniques. These credentials, issued by HAAG Engineering, validate an inspector’s expertise in identifying damage, assessing roof systems, and understanding installation standards, weather effects, and failure analysis.
Professionals holding these certifications are trained to deliver accurate, consistent evaluations that stand up to engineering and insurance standards—ensuring credible, data-driven results in both commercial and residential applications.
-
The IIBEC Registered Roof Observer (RRO) and Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO) certifications are issued by the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) and represent advanced expertise in building envelope quality assurance. These credentials demonstrate a deep understanding of roofing and exterior wall systems, materials, and installation practices.
Professionals holding the RRO and REWO designations provide third-party observation to ensure envelope components are installed in accordance with design intent, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards—helping deliver watertight, high-performing, and durable buildings.
-
Level III Master Thermographer Certified — The highest level of certification in infrared thermography, demonstrating advanced expertise in thermal imaging analysis for building envelope performance, moisture detection, and diagnostics.
-
The FGIA Fenestration Master Professional (FMPC) and InstallationMasters Certified Professional (IMCP) certifications, issued by the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA), represent advanced expertise in window, door, and curtain wall systems.
These credentials validate comprehensive knowledge of fenestration performance, installation best practices, and field testing standards. Professionals holding FMPC and IMCP certifications ensure proper system integration, long-term durability, and watertight installation consistent with the highest industry standards.
-
The AABA Certified Building Envelope Auditor credential recognizes advanced expertise in evaluating the design, performance, and integrity of building envelope systems. Certified auditors are trained to assess air and moisture management, thermal efficiency, and material compatibility across residential and commercial structures.
This certification demonstrates a commitment to excellence in diagnostic evaluation and building science, ensuring envelope systems meet the highest standards for performance, durability, and energy efficiency.
-
FAA Part 107 Certified sUAS Drone Pilot — Licensed by the FAA to operate drones for commercial use, providing high-resolution aerial and thermal imaging to enhance building envelope inspections and forensic investigations.
